Wow. These past few weeks have been a whirlwind. After vacation at the beginning of August, I had both kids home with me until my oldest started school yesterday. Trying to work (or eat lunch, or use the restroom…) with both kids at home proved to be quite the challenge.

And blogging fell by the wayside.

As the new school year picks up and I prepare my youngest for preschool, I’m becoming excited at the prospect of a little bit of time to myself this coming year.

Looking ahead, I realize how many things I want to work on that I just didn’t have the time to tackle this summer.

Urge to Purge

I’ve also been developing the urge to purge again. As I look at my living environment with fresh eyes, it’s clear that there are still many things I would gladly part with. In fact, each moment I spend cleaning something I don’t use or love, I’m struck with resentment over the time the item has stolen from my day.

Looking for Laughs?

Everyone loves to laugh. I’m always deeply appreciative of comedians and other people that can take the drudgery of life and turn it into chuckles and smiles. My former manager and friend, Deb Nikifortchuk, has a talent for both comedy and writing. If you’re in the mood to laugh (and who isn’t?), check out her new blog Boomerang Boomer.

That’s it for today. I’m hoping to settle into a more regular writing schedule again in the coming weeks.

How is your month going? Do you have kids to get back to school? Are you preparing lessons for homeschooling? Are you looking forward to fall?

    Well Jenny,
I made you laugh yesterday and I have always been a huge fan of your dynamic insight.
If you need help organizing your life or cabinets, let me know. Organizing and laughing are two things I do best.
Hugs & Best of Luck in your new adventure!

    • Yes Danielle, I can ALWAYS count on you for a laugh. And I mean a laugh until it hurts and I can’t catch my breath kind of laugh. ;)

I’m not great at organizing (and I definitely don’t enjoy it), so I just get rid of things and try to avoid bringing new things in to the house. The less stuff I have to deal with, the happier I am!
