Hi! I’m Jenny. I’m so glad you’re here.

I write this blog to inspire you to achieve more freedom in your life. Freedom with your time, money and attention.

In August 2011, my husband and I became consumer debt free. Deciding to pay off our consumer debts opened up a world of freedom we didn’t know existed.

Adopting a more minimalist lifestyle was a major contributing factor to our success.

Is This Blog for You?

The answer is yes if you’re also curious about a lifestyle that involves less debt, less clutter, less advertising influences, less stress and more freedom.

I promise to share with you an honest account of my journey toward eliminating debt, saving more money, mitigating advertising influences and living a life full of less stuff and energy-sucking clutter.

If you’d like to get in touch with me, please feel free to shoot me a note using the contact form on this site.

  1. I am really bad about spending. I guess I am a consumer or better put, a shop-aholic. I love shopping especially in the clearance section of all my favorite stores. I buy for my kids and grandchildren. I am always buying ahead for all the next year holidays also. But even though I am saving money on what I buy it still adds up on my charge cards with interest.

  2. I know it’s hard to avoid passing up a good deal. I’m getting better at it though.

I’m trying to adopt a no-charge policy for myself this year. I made it through Christmas last year without using a credit card for the first time in my adult life. It was really a great feeling to start January without the usual credit card debt.

  3. Just about to pop you on my blogroll :-)

  4. Nice to have stumbled across your blog today, favorited!

And thank you so much for the sweet e-card too! You are too cute. :)

  7. I love that I stumbled upon this blog! I am on the path to ‘Living with Less’ on all things – I started blogging to promote my new non-profit based on living with less food – and also recovering from my own addiction to consumerism. Love it – looking forward to following!

    • Hi Shira!

Thanks so much for stopping in to introduce yourself. :)

  8. Jenny, congrats on becoming debt-free. We did it many years ago and it changed our lives. No longer did we have to worry about a mortgage and car payments. We were free! I’ve learned how to save money and still travel the world. I wish you best of success with your blog…and your continuing efforts to escape the consumerist culture.

    • Hi Deb! Yes, you and Alex helped inspire me to explore this (no debt) lifestyle. When I found out you lived debt-free, I thought maybe it was just a Canadian thing. :) We decided to give it a try and I’m so glad we did!
